Splash Group presents: Daniela Busarello Levitas in Gravitas

125 Space is proud to present Levitas in Gravitas, a solo exhibition by Italo-Brazilian artist Daniela Busarello, curated by Lydia Theodoridou.

With innate and acquired scientific knowledge, as well as heightened spiritual awareness, the artist explores how the properties of materials like glass, lava, sea water, and plants merge with our own physical and emotional anatomy. 

Levitas in Gravitas is an exhibition of works in various media, drawn from independent series of Daniela Busarello’s artistic journey, and suggests the symbiotic existence of lightness and gravity as a source of movement, creation and elevation. 

Growing up under the majestic canopies of the forests of Brazil, witnessing construction and destruction, her training as an architect and her personal meditative journey, all combine to act as a conduit for passing the optimistic and euphoric message that through decay comes life, through explosion comes genesis, and that the known and the unknown hold the promise of infinite movement.

The works shown in Levitas in Gravitas include sculptures from a collaboration with Murano, monumental paintings and abstract drawings which led to a collaboration with La Manufacture Cogolin for the production of a unique tapestry. Always faithful to the Latin concept of genius loci (the spirit of place), the artist’s primary concern is restoring harmony between culture and the ecosystem.
